2022 Hyundai Tucson SUV Spotted while testing key features reveal

New Delhi, Auto Desk. The new generation Hyundai Tucson SUV made its global debut in September 2020. The model will first be launched in the US, followed by other global markets. The SUV comes with a sportier and bolder design, upmarket interiors and a hybrid, plug-in hybrid powertrain. Now, the company has started testing the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson in India and its first prototype was recently caught on camera near the company’s plant in Tamil Nadu.

Most of the original design details were covered in what was spotted during testing. However, things like a raised front windshield, 18-inch dual-tone wheels with squared-off wheel arches, sloping roofline and sharper body panels can be clearly seen. Based on the brand’s globally sensitive sportiness design language, the new Hyundai Tucson 2022 features a parametric grille and unique triangular headlamps at the front bumper. While the strong character line continues to show on the side profile, its beltline has been raised.

The rear section has been revised with newly designed taillamps, which are connected via a sleek strip of LED lights running on the tailgate. At the back, instead of sheetmetal, the signature logo has been placed in glass. Compared to the previous generation, the new model is longer and wider. Its wheelbase has been increased by 3.4 inches.

The interiors of the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson are modernized with a 10.3-inch dual-screen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, two device Bluetooth connectivity, digital instrument cluster, air quality monitoring system, 64 color ambient lighting and many more Is.

The new Hyundai Tucson 2022 comes with hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The Hybrid Edition comes with a 1.6L inline-4 turbo engine, a 44.2kW ​​electric motor and a 1.49kWh battery pack that churns out a combined power of 226bhp and 350Nm of torque. The plug-in hybrid model has the same turbo four engine, with a larger 13.8kWh battery and 66.9kW electric motor. Hyundai’s 2.5L, 4-cylinder, inline engine is offered as standard across the model lineup. It delivers 187bhp of power and 241Nm of torque.
